A new rector has been inducted for the Benefice of Thaxted, the Sampfords, Radwinter and Hempstead.
On Tuesday, January 31, the Bishop of Chelmsford, the Rt Revd Dr Guli Francis-Dehqani inducted the Revd Gerwyn Capon as the rector.
A special service was held at Thaxted Parish Church and featured music from the Sampfords Singers and the Thaxted Church Choir.

Around 200 people attended to welcome the new rector, including Archdeacon of Stansted Robin King.
Father Gerwyn, who was previously the Dean of Llandaff Cathedral in Cardiff, said: "I am extremely thankful for the warm welcome I have received and look forward to getting to know the local community, as I start my new ministry in this beautiful part of Essex."
