A 32-year-old man has been convicted of raping a woman in Dunmow.
Rory Miles, of Harris Green, Dunmow, was reported to have raped a woman at an address in the town following a night out on November 10, 2018, before she managed to get away from him and call for help.
Miles was charged with rape and the woman was supported by specialist officers from Essex Police's Adult Sexual Abuse Investigation Team.
He denied the charge, and stood trial at Chelmsford Crown Court.
A jury found Miles guilty on Wednesday, February 8. He is due to be sentenced at the same court on March 27.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Jon Nottage said: "Rory Miles took advantage of the woman and forced himself on her for his own gratification, showing no regard of how she felt and the affect it would have on her.
"During interview he claimed the sexual contact was consensual, and maintained this stance, putting the woman through a trial, thankfully the jury saw through his lies.
"I want to praise the courage demonstrated by the woman who came forward and reported what had happened to her, along with her incredible strength she has shown throughout this process.
"I hope this conviction will help her to move forward."
