Thirty solar panels have been installed at Rayne Village Hall thanks to a grant from Essex County Council's Climate Action Challenge Fund.
This will contribute to the village hall's work to reduce its carbon footprint, and to help keep their hiring costs as low as possible moving forward.
Following questions about solar panels from the public, the village hall trustees are holding a community open morning so people can see the completed works and learn more about how they can help the environment.
Solar Power GB Ltd, who installed the equipment, will attend to answer any questions.
