The Rotary Club of Dunmow welcomed ex-West Ham and England International footballer Alvin Martin as the speaker at their Sports Personality Dinner.
Alvin spoke of memorable moments throughout his career, including in April 1986 - when he scored a hat-trick in a single game against three different goalkeepers.
The game was against Newcastle United, and West Ham won 8-1, with three of the goals scored by Alvin. Newcastle unfortunately had to use three separate goalkeepers in the game due to injuries.

A framed and numbered certificate commemorating the event was auctioned at the dinner, alongside a cricket bat signed by the Essex County cricket team, and a framed painting of West Ham.
All the money raised went to SportsAid and Rotary charities.
