A budding writer from Felsted has been shortlisted in the Essex Year of Reading competition.
Residents of all ages were asked to submit writing themed around Essex.
Ellie Dinning, 17, was shortlisted in the Key Stage 5 category for her piece of writing 'Silent Little City'.
Some of the shortlisted entries will be published in the Essex Year of Reading anthology, and entrants will receive a £30 book voucher and certificate.

Clare Kershaw, director of education at Essex County Council, said: "It’s been wonderful to see how creative the people of Essex are, and it’ll be great to see some of these works in print very soon."
All longlisted pieces can be read on the Essex Year of Reading app, which is available via the App Store or Google Play.
