Felsted Primary School has achieved platinum award status for its Outdoor Play and Learn (OPAL) programme, which aims to enhance children's lunchtimes.
At playtime, children are encouraged to engage in role play, den building, sand pit play and 'small world play', and enjoy climbing frames, tyres, basketball, board games, music and an outdoor library.
Parents recently visited the school to join in the play, which resulted in Felsted being audited as a platinum school.

OPAL founder and director Michael Follett said: "Felsted Primary School has just achieved Platinum award status from OPAL Outdoor Play and Learning.
"This means that they are in the top 0.5 per cent of UK schools for the quality of the play they provide for all their children."
