More than 50 children enjoyed a fun start to the summer holiday at Thaxted Messy Church.
Thaxted United Reformed Church organised a week-long holiday club for children, supported by helpers from several other local churches.
Each morning explored a 'junior helper' from the Bible using crafts, games, storytelling and songs.
One example was the boy who offered his five loaves and two fish, enabling Jesus to feed 5,000 people.
Other activities included making 'the armour of God', one piece of which was the 'shield of faith'.

This was the first time Thaxted Messy Church has run a holiday club, and they were "delighted" by its success.
Messy Church meets on the second Wednesday of each month from 4pm to 5.30pm.
