Thaxted Singers are resuming rehearsals next week following their summer break, with new members welcome to join.
Rehearsals start up again at 7.30pm on Thursday, September 21 at United Reformed Church. in Bolford Street, Thaxted.
Following their successful concert at the church in June, where they were joined by guest soloists tenor Bonaventura Bottone and soprano Nancy May, the group will now prepare for two Christmas performances at the church in December, and a major summer concert in June 2024.
The choir, formed in 2018 by Steve and Maggi Griffiths, has around 50 members, covering a wide range of ages and musical experience.
No auditions are required, and the repertoire is generally a crossover between classical pieces and popular songs and arrangements.
The December performances will feature Christmas music, but not exclusively so, with other works by John Rutter, Verdi, Vivaldi and extracts from musical theatre shows also included.
Musical director Steve Griffiths said: "New members are always welcome, whether competent in reading music or not.
"A sociable and friendly singing group, Thaxted Singers serves not only as a community choir with high musical standards, but also as a social outlet for like-minded individuals who enjoy the experience of singing together for pleasure."
