Sports clubs and projects in Uttlesford can apply for grants to help enhance provision across the district.
Uttlesford District Council allocated funds over three years for the Sports Provision Grant.
As there was an underspend in previous years, the council is welcoming further applications - with £54,000 in funding available in total.
The funding is aimed at sports clubs or other 'appropriately-constituted' organisations, and is for larger-scale sports projects that can enable increased community involvement and participation.
More information, including criteria for who can apply and an application form, is available at www.uttlesford.gov.uk/sports-provision-grant.

The closing date for applications is midday on Thursday, December 14.
In previous years, funding has been granted to support projects including £35,000 to Thaxted Youth Club for a new skate ramp, £150,000 to Saffron Walden Community Football Club towards its 3G artificial grass pitch at Saffron Walden County High School, and £1,000 to Newport Parish Council towards its multi-use games area.
Spending may fall into four categories: maintenance work and purchase of equipment for normal activities, upgrade to existing facilities and purchase of equipment for greater or enhanced use, development costs for major new provision projects, and major projects requiring funding support greater than £54,000.
