Felsted pupils were invited to bury a time capsule at a new housing development in the village.
Members of the Felsted Primary School Parliament visited The Meadows at Felsted, which is being built by Mulberry Homes.
The children buried time capsules containing a variety of items, including postcards of the King, pictures of their classes, their favourite toys and some writing about themselves.
These time capsules will serve as a reminder of recent years as the community begins to flourish at The Meadows.
Charlotte Smithyes, history lead and teacher at Felsted Primary School, said: "We were so excited to be part of such a special event.
"The children loved compiling the time capsules and it led to fantastic discussions within our classrooms. We would like to thank Mulberry Homes for inviting us."
Kerry Jones, sales and marketing director at Mulberry Homes, added: "The time capsule burial at The Meadows was a brilliant day and we at Mulberry Homes want to extend our thanks to the children and staff at Felsted Primary School.
"We are proud to continue our commitment to the local community in Felsted, and look forward to seeing how the items buried will have changed in 100 years from now."
The Meadows at Felsted is a collection of 25 three, four and five-bedroom detached homes.
