Teams raced against the clock in their handmade vehicles at this year's Great Dunmow Soapbox Race.
The race, which took place on Sunday, May 5, is the second-largest soapbox race in the UK.
Competitors faced jumps and the slippery blizzard alley, driving through clouds of foam and bubbles on their way to the finish line.
This year's gold medal winner was 'Greased Lightning', with Harleston Round Table winning silver and bronze going to Mind in West Essex.
The event is organised by the Great Dunmow Round Table, with 50 teams competing and 120 volunteers helping make the day run smoothly.
Steve Eccles, national vice president of Round Table Great Britain and Ireland, said: "Thousands of smiles, money raised for great causes and skills learnt.
"Well done to all of the guys that put hundreds of hours into running such a smooth event."
