Pupils from Thaxted Primary School showed their community spirit by setting up planters for charities in the area.

The School Parliament took on a project to create planters for Pam's Place, a charitable community hub in the town, CraftAbility, which supports people with physical disabilities in Uttlesford, and the Baptist Church.

The initiative began with Year 6 pupils writing letters to the Thaxted-based charity Yardley's, seeking support for their cause.

Impressed by the children's passion for the project, Yardley's stepped in to offer their support - helping the school secure funding and a donation of planters from Planteria in Henham.

The children were able to purchase all the necessary supplies with guidance from gardening and household shop H. Lowe & Co in Town Street.
