Pupils at Helena Romanes School in Dunmow performed 'A Night at the Movies and Musicals' to showcase their creative talents.
The show on Friday, June 21 featured songs from Blood Brothers, the music of Joni Mitchell, tap dancing, a performance of 'Singin' in the Rain' and self-penned singer-songwriter tunes.
While the audience queued at the bar for refreshments they could admire around 200 individual works of art created by pupils.
The evening also marked the relaunching of the school's PTSA - fronted by Sarah Sangster and her team of volunteers.
Teachers said they "could not be prouder of students", adding: "Every student on stage, every student back stage, front of house or marketing displayed the best qualities anyone could expect."
