Public events will be held across the district for residents to take part in the consultation on Uttlesford's draft Local Plan.

The drop-in events will give people the opportunity to ask Uttlesford District Council's planning policy team any questions they have about the plan - which will guide the locations of home and employment sites as well as the infrastructure to support them.

The team will also be able to assist anyone who would like to make a representation.

Uttlesford's Local Plan will bring together all major planning policy for the district into a single document, and will need to meet the requirements of the National Planning Policy Framework.

Consultation events will take place as follows:

Ugley Village Hall - Monday, September 2 from 5pm to 8pm.

Foakes Hall, Great Dunmow - Wednesday, September 4 from 5pm to 8pm.

Saffron Walden Town Hall - Monday, September 9 from 5pm to 8pm.

Priors Green Community Hall, Takeley - Tuesday, September 10 from 5pm to 8pm.

The Local Plan consultation runs until 5pm on Thursday, October 3. 

Members of the public are invited to give their views on its legal compliance, and what is referred to as the 'soundness' of the plan - which relates to whether it meets the requirements set out in national policy, guidance and legislation.

The quickest and easiest way to read the draft plan and provide feedback is via the council's website at https://www.uttlesford.gov.uk/new-local-plan.

Responses can also be submitted by email or post using a form which is available from the district council and local libraries.

Paper copies of the plan are available to view at the district council's offices in Saffron Walden, at libraries or from parish councils.
