Five people have appeared in court following a burglary from the Co-op in Flitch Green.
Essex Police officers were called to reports of a theft from the Co-op in Hallett Road, Flitch Green, at around 8.10pm on Monday, August 26.
Four men and a woman were arrested an hour later, and were charged with burglary.
The group was caught after Braintree CID, Braintree and Uttlesford local policing team, the roads policing unit and staff from Essex Police's control room worked together to identify the suspect's car.
The car was brought to a safe stop in Redbridge by the Metropolitan Police.
Kevin Hassan, 40, Conor Mariscotti, 26, and Romas Michalcovas, 38, of no fixed address, all face a single charge of burglary other than dwelling.
Luke Russell, 43, of Ashurst Drive, Ilford, is charged with burglary other than dwelling and possession of a Class B drug.
Rebecca Thrower, 48, of no fixed address, is charged with burglary other than dwelling, driving without insurance, dangerous driving, driving other than in accordance with a licence and failing to stop.
They appeared at Chelmsford Magistrate's Court on Wednesday, August 28, and were remanded into custody to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on Wednesday, September 25.
