Solar panels have been installed at Little Canfield Village Hall thanks to funding from Uttlesford District Council.
In February, the Committee of Little Canfield Village Hall was awarded £16,500 from the council's Zero Carbon Communities Fund, which comes from the UK government through the Shared Prosperity Fund.
The money was used to buy solar panels and batteries. The roof had to be refurbished to support the panels, meaning the hall can now catch light from the south, west and east to maximise their use.
A spokesperson for the committee said: "The committee is thrilled to announce these panels are now up and running, providing power to the hall in the first instance and with the expectation of exporting power in due course."
