A long-term bike loan scheme is now available to residents in Uttlesford.
Uttlesford District Council has expanded its 'try-before-you-buy' initiative, allowing anyone in the district to hire an e-bike, e-cargo bike, or pedal bike.
This scheme is part of the Saffron Walden Clean Air Project, a town-wide initiative aimed at raising awareness of air pollution and promoting sustainable travel.
The project is funded by Defra and seeks to create a healthier environment for residents.
A council spokesperson said: "The council is delighted to be able to roll out the scheme across the district."
Residents or workers in Uttlesford can hire a bike for one to six months, with the option to pay monthly by subscription.
There is no deposit required, and the hire can be stopped at any time.
The bike will be delivered to their home or work address.
